Welcome to Sharing Hope International
Introduction:
Sharing Hope International, Inc. grew out of the international program orientations of Sowing Hope, which had initially been established in June 2001 as a nonprofit corporation to direct gifts toward humanitarian endeavors in Christian religious, educational, and agricultural activities. These activities were focused primarily on deserving international students. In 2003, Sowing Hope was expanded to a broader mission of economic and social development with Christians and their communities in developing countries. Over the next two years it became evident that the operations of the international operations would be best served through a separate sister organization – with Sowing Hope returning to its initial US-based educational goals. In June 2005, Sharing Hope initiated actions for separate incorporation and on September 1, 2005 was incorporated in the State of Minnesota as a non-profit public charity, with corporate number 1492444-2, formed under Chapter 317A. It is granted tax-exempt status by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) organization and treated as a publicly supported charity organization. Donors may deduct contributions to Sharing Hope International, Inc. according to section 170 of the Internal Revenue Code.
